I need want a rug for my living room. I have this big empty space that is begging for a rug.
Rugs are expensive, especially the ones I want.

"Oh look, this one is perfect! Oh, it's also $500!!"
Grr.
So I'm making one.
It's the perfect craft for getting me what I want and using up all this fabric I have just laying around.
What do you think so far?
Do you like my hooked spoon?
I didn't have a crochet hook that was big enough so I had to improvise.
It works great by the way.
The fabric is
- left overs from other projects
- freebies from church (which will make up the bulk of it)
- old bridesmaid dresses
I plan on making it as big as possible, which I hope will be around 6ft across, but I really don't know if I have enough fabric for that. We will see. I also plan on posting directions on how to make your own, but not now. I'm tired.
Happy Saturday! I'm going to get me some pancakes!

Is the dress from my wedding making an appearance? I'm not sure if it fits your other colors though...
ReplyDeleteI love the colors! You are so creative!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteSorry Suzie, red is not in the color scheme, and I think I brought it to Goodwill a couple of weeks ago because red is not a color I use a lot. Of course now I'm kicking myself because I also have an orange dress and the two would have made a cute little rug. Oh well.
I'm glad the church fabric is being put to good use!
